LILY ANONYMOUS
Lily Anonymous was born and reared in a small town in 1946, surrounded by corn fields in Indiana. Graduating
from Purdue University, she taught art from elementary to college level. However, accidents changed her
ability to be physical in her drawing and painting. After leaving Purdue, she was under the tutelage of Professor Joseph Tamargo at
Miami-Dade College, Wolfson Campus, who inspired her. She learned to look at a photograph, translate
the images she saw on the street and capture them in her own frame. Dyslexia was evident in her prints
and she was taught to compensate for her field-of-vision.

With a single exposure of her camera’s eye, the frame is printed to a full frame, so that she must own each corner of the photograph. Sometimes her photos appear to have many layers of texture that quite simply can be manipulated in one program or another, however, she challenges herself to find it and only document what is there.
