MY BLACK HEART SPEAKS

The purity of the work is evidenced when shooting only what is found, without arranging the shot to achieve the frame. With a single exposure of the camera’s eye, the frame is printed to a full frame, owning each corner of the photograph. Sometimes the image appears to have many layers of texture that quite simply, can be manipulated in one program or another, however, the challenge is to find and only document what is there, with one click.

 

My Black Heart Speaks is about deeper conversations of historical events, current issues, and race in our community. I’m in the winter of my life and give thanks to the ancestors while lighting a spark of light to challenge the descendants that lead us into the future.
